United States
In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires homeopathic manufacturers to register and be subject to periodic inspections. It also requires homeopathic medicines be manufactured according to the guidelines of the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS), which specifies the homeopathic starting materials, as well as the processes for making homeopathic drug products. Look for “HPUS” on the label. To verify your favorite homeopathic manufacturer is registered with the FDA, use this link:

- Search the name of the company.
- FDA will tell you if they are registered plus what they are registered for.
- For instance, to label, package or manufacture.
- Keep in mind there are organizations that sell homeopathic products under their own labels but someone else manufactures it for them.
- As an example, Mirando Castro, whose products are listed on this site, sells under her own label, but her HPUS products are manufactured by OHM Pharma, an FDA registered lab.
Canada
Canadian homeopathic medicines are regulated by Health Canada, the governmental department responsible for the safety, efficacy and compositional integrity of pharmaceutical products. Manufacturing facilities are subject to inspection and require licenses to operate. These companies must abide by the Good Manufacturing Practices set out in the Natural Health Products Regulations. Additionally, the Canadian Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Association (CHPA) advocates for a comprehensive risk-based regulatory framework including manufacturing methods for homeopathic medicine, indications for use, product formulations, and potencies compatible with internationally recognized pharmacopoeias. Manufacturers whose products are subject to pre-market authorization by Health Canada and who are members of the CHPA include:
Bio Lonreco Inc; Biomed International; Boiron Canada Inc; Distripharm Inc; Herbasanté Inc; Homeocan Inc; Homeodel Inc; Hylands; Orange Naturals; Seroyal Inc.
United Kingdom
In the United Kingdom, homeopathic medicines and homoeopathic medicine manufacturing are regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). As well, the British Association of Homeopathic Manufacturers (BAHM) works closely with British, Irish, and European Union authorities concerning implementing homeopathic regulations. We suggest sourcing your remedies from manufacturers whose products hold pre-market approved registrations granted by the MHRA and are also members of the BAHM. These include:
Ainsworths Ltd; A. Nelson and Co. Ltd; Helios Homoeopathy Ltd; Weleda UK Ltd.
