There are several ways to take homeopathic remedies.
Oral pellets
- These pellets dissolve in the mouth (adult or infant). Take according to package directions. Do not eat or drink 15-30 minutes before or after taking a remedy to ensure it is absorbed through the oral mucus membranes. (Clean water is okay) No one should touch the medicine except the person taking it.
Oral spray
- Some of the mixed remedies come in spray form. Follow package directions.
Pellets dissolved in water (oral or topical application)
- When frequent doses are necessary, pellets may be dissolved in water and oral doses taken from the solution or the solution misted on the wound. To do this, add about 4 ounces of pure water to a clean glass/bottle. Add a dose of pellets to the water and let dissolve. Stir or shake briskly. Keep the container covered in a cool place, away from strong odors, sunlight or electricity. You may take your doses from this container for up to three days, then make another batch. A dose is a spoonful. Swish the solution in your mouth for about 10 seconds before swallowing or mist on the wound.
- For patients unable to take remedies by mouth, the remedy dissolved in solution can be rubbed on the skin – the forehead or inner wrist, for example. Before doing so, ensure the skin is warm with plenty of circulation so the remedy is absorbed.
Gel/Cream
- These ointments are applied topically according to package directions.
