• Prevention of anxiety during the centering scan/radiation sessions

NOTE:

• May combine 1 dose of each in a glass or bottle of water.
• Vigorously shake the mixture before each dose.
• Take a mouthful and swish in mouth.
• Take up to 3-5 times a day until improved.

• After radiation therapy
• To help skin recover
• To help  with fear of relapse

• Causticum 30C
• One dose once a week for a month after radiation treatment has ended
• Continue to use Calendula tincture or cream described below.

• To prevent skin burns

• Calendula tincture(1X) or
• Weleda Intensive Skin Recovery or
• Boiron Calendula ointment – containing only Calendula and petroleum jelly
• Apply twice daily on affected area during radiation therapy. 
• Warm between hands before applying to make it easier to apply.
• Do not use within 4 hours of radiation therapy to avoid greasy skin.    

Note: Weleda pharmacy can also make up a special calendula lotion intended for burns. It is not listed on their website, but can be special ordered.

• Bright red, dry skin or oozing in skin folds
• Outbreak of small vesicles with clear fluid, surrounded by deep red patches  
• Burning sensation is better with warm, moist applications

• Rhus toxicodendron 6C
  • One dose 3 times a day
  • Do not put on skin folds if there is oozing

• Rash  or eczema from exposure to sun
• Rash with papules and vesicles (fluid filled blisters similar to Rhus tox above) that itch after radiation therapy.

• Muriaticum acidum 6C
  • One dose 3 times/day
  • Available from Hahnemann Labs and European pharmacies

• Burns that are very red or form blisters like 2d degree burns
• Pain is burning, cutting or smarting
• Better with cold application

• Cantharis 6C
  • One dose 3 times a day

• Oozing of skin  
• Skin swells, bleeds easy.
• Skin dry, itches and burns.
• May or may not have small blisters. 
• Worse with cold application and scratching. 
• Better with warm applications.

• Arsenicum album 12C
  • One dose once a day

• Late complications or chronic skin issues that leave the skin atrophied/retracting, change in texture or color and/or thick or hardened.
• (These are rare and occur in people who genetically predisposed)

Use all of these as long as symptoms persist.  Take at different times of day and for Radium and Arsenicum take on different days:

• Causticum:
  • One dose of 6C once a day the first month, then
  • One dose of 12C once a day the second month, then
  • One dose of 30C once a day the third month.
