Croup

Choose a remedy:  Choose based on the most prominent croup symptoms you are observing.

Dosage:  Take 6C, 12X or 30C every 60 minutes for up to 3 doses.  If there is improvement with 1 or 2 doses, stop.  If symptoms return, repeat as above.  If no improvement after 3 doses, select a different remedy.*

• If there is a fever of 102 or higher and there is severe difficulty breathing with a high-pitched sound when breathing in, these are symptoms of epiglottitis.  Your child should be kept in an upright or leaning forward position and be taken immediately for medical care.
• If a self-selected remedy – however well indicated – doesn’t help and your baby’s croup is not getting better, you need to seek medical expertise.  A doctor will provide a diagnosis and/or a professional homeopath can evaluate your symptoms in the context of your whole person.
