Asthmatic Breathing/Wheezing

Choose a remedy for asthmatic breathing/wheezing based on the symptoms that most closely match. If symptoms subside but a new set of symptoms follows, choose a remedy based on the new symptoms.

Dosage: 5, 6, 12 or 30C every 15 minutes up to 10 doses depending on severity and persistence of symptoms.*

Stop taking when very much better.
Repeat if symptoms recur.
Look for a closer fitting remedy if no improvement after 4 doses.

Below are a few remedies for asthmatic breathing of recent origin. If symptoms are chronic, consult with your doctor to get your condition stabilized. A professional homeopath can advise on possible remedies to take concurrently with your prescribed medicine. If these help your asthma on a long term basis, you can then work with your physician to see if weaning off prescribed medication is possible or appropriate.
Prompt medical attention must be obtained if breathing is labored, breath rate climbs, if there is a blue tinge anywhere on the body, the ribs are sucked inwards with any breath, or there is excess drowsiness or difficulty speaking. If unsure, seek medical attention immediately because homeopathy is not appropriate as the sole treatment in life threatening conditions.
