Head Injury or Concussion

Choose a remedy: Choose based on the most prominent symptoms of head injury or concussion. If these change, take a remedy that matches your new symptoms.

Dosage:

Emergency (may be taken while enroute to hospital):
- 6C, 12C, 30C or 200C of Arnica every 10-30 minutes until situation is calmed down.
- Then every 2-4 hours, depending on how well the injured person is doing. If pain persists, see the Dosage Chart.
- If the injured person is unable to take pellets:
  - Dissolve Arnica in water and have them sip it.
  - If unable to sip, wet the lips or mucus membranes with the solution.
Old injury: 30C of indicated remedy three times a day for two days
Stop any remedy when improved.
May repeat, if needed.

Note:

Any head injury or concussion that results in loss of consciousness, seizure, excess sleepiness, lack of responsiveness, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, change in personality, or other similar symptoms requires medical attention even if days or weeks have passed since the injury.
Homeopathic medicines will not interfere with the treatment your doctor prescribes and may be taken simultaneously with conventional medicine.
If the below remedies do not help or their action is short-lived, and your doctor has found no pathological basis, a professional homeopath may be able to address the root cause based on your total symptoms.
