Choose a remedy: Choose based on the most prominent symptoms. If symptoms change, take a remedy that matches your new symptoms. We recommend 30C doses for people new to homeopathy and 200C for professional use.

Notes:

Broken bones are diagnosed and set by medical professionals. Homeopathy is appropriate for symptomatic relief or to speed healing.
If, after a broken bone, pain gets better but then gets worse and/or there is redness, tenderness, swelling, see your doctor to ensure you do not have an infection.
If a self-selected remedy – however well indicated – doesn’t help, you need to return to your doctor. If appropriate, a professional homeopath can evaluate your symptoms in the context of your whole person.

Symptoms	Remedy
Nervous Fearful Shaking Unable to calm down Mental: Initial shock of a serious injury View Remedy	Aconitum napellus: 200C or 30C If symptoms indicate, give this first. Every 15 minutes for 2-3 doses. Stop if improvement after first dose. Take immediately after injury
Pain Swelling Bruising Mental: May say they are fine and want to go home or be left alone but they are obviously in need of medical care View Remedy	Arnica: 200C/CK or 30C. Take soon after injury. Take every 15-30 minutes. Stop after several doses if no improvement. Stop when pain improves. Repeat if pain returns, gradually extending period of time over the following days
Pain: Excruciating with slightest movement (i.e., rib injuries). Mental: Does not want to be touched or moved. Aggravated at the least disturbance. View Remedy	Bryonia: 30C Take after a few doses of Arnica. Every 30 minutes. Stop after several doses if no improvement. Stop when pain improves. Repeat if pain returns, gradually extending period of time over the following days
Bones: Hasten healing View Remedy	Calcarea phosphorica 6X or 12X three times/day. Take between doses of Symphytum
Pain: Deep bone pain, bruising pain View Remedy	Eupatorium perfoliatum: 30C Take if Arnica is not available or stops helping. Take as directed for Arnica above. Stop after several doses if no improvement. Stop when pain improves. Repeat if pain returns, gradually extending period of time over the following days
Pain: Compound fractures Pain: Intense in nerve rich areas (fingers, foot, spine, tailbone, teeth) View Remedy	Hypericum: 30C Take one dose every 15 minutes until pain subsides. Stop after several doses if no improvement. Stop when pain improves. Repeat if pain returns, gradually extending period of time over the following days
Pain: New or old injuries to the periosteum (layer surrounding bones) when Arnica ceases to act Shin, kneecap, elbow (bones close to the surface) Worse with cold, damp weather View Remedy	Ruta graveolens: 12C One dose every day for 3 weeks
Small chips have broken away from bone View Remedy	Silica (Silicea) 6X Take 5 pellets twice daily for 2 weeks
Broken bones – to hasten bone repair View Remedy	Symphytum: 30C Take once a day for ten days. Then 200C once a week for the next three weeks -or– 6C or 12C, twice daily for up to 3 weeks DO NOT TAKE UNTIL ORTHOPEDIST SAYS BONE IS PROPERLY SET OR YOU RISK IT STARTING TO HEAL IN THE WRONG POSITION
Broken bones, slow to heal View Remedy	Symphytum: 30C Take once a day for ten days. Then 200C/CK once a week for the next three weeks -or– Symphytum: 6C or 12C Take 2-3 times daily for up to 3 weeks plus Calcarea phosphoricum: 6X or 12X Take 3 times a day
